Star Races
Chose one of your cars from the Junk Yard. Then Select and find a Buring Route with a star on it then go and win the race and it will give you a nother better version of your car.
Post-Update Sponsor Codes
Recent updates have disabled the code entry necessary for certain cars (some are unlocked automatically now, but not the Steel Wheels, for instance). To bypass this, 1st BACKUP YOUR GAME SAVE on a USB drive. Now, delete the Game Data in your browser, which will revert the game back to 1.50. Disable your internet connection, so it will not update, and restart the game. Load your save and enter the Sponsor Code desired. Now you can revert to the newest update and your unlocked car(s) will be there.

You will need the Septermber 18, 2008 update to access bikes in Burnout Paradise. Once you have it, perform the actions below to unlock additional bikes:

Halt the Hot Rod Locked Boost
Perform an E turn (SQUARE button) to stop the Hot Rod's boost. You may have to do this twice.
Gold & Platinum Paint Jobs
You can use alternate paint colors on your car that would not otherwise be available to you immediately. If you earn the Elite level license, you can use gold paint. If you have a 100% completion file attached to your Elite level license, you can use platinum paint.

Showtime road rule hint
First enter in a road rule challenge(L1 andR1). hit cars for more boost and points but mainly hit busses.do all this in downtown for a bigger chance of hitting busses. my biggest roadrule on offline was 6,457,981 points so trust me.
HOW TO USE THE 3 TYPES OF CARS (IMPORTANT!!!)
STUNT: an all around good car, pull off jumps and get air to keep the boost (green) going
AGGRESSION: generally slower but stronger, knock over poles and hit cars to keep the boost (orange) going
SPEED: the fastest and weakest of the 3 cars, you can only use boost while its full, but even when you run out, keep holding X and if you had enough near misses, jumps, or oncomings, you may be rewarded with another full boost bar, this is called a burnout, do tricks while using boost (yellow) for maximum burnout chains
Burning Routes
When you're driving a car, you may notice a star on your map. this is a burning route. a burning route is a race against the clock designed specifically for your car. if you win this race, you get a upgraded version of the car. sometimes the upgrade is good, sometimes its not. the usual upgrade for most cars is minus 1 speed and plus 1 boost. they take off 1 light for speed, and add another for boost.
Tazmanian flick turn
First use boost.when you get to the turn, tap the E (square) brake. then rapidly press side on the turning button the oppisite side you are turning.once you are strait, hit gas and boost. then hopefully you have done a tazmanian flick. this is good for hard turns.
Races
To check if you did a race or another event when you see a race indicator in the corner it will say hold L and R to start a race if theres a tick in the top corner it means you did it

Pause the game during play and press R1 to scroll tothe 'Under theHood' menu.Select the ' Sponsor Code ' option and enter these codes

Flashing Lights
Okay, as soon as you take out the Krieger WTR, do the burning route, its fairly easy, I did it on my first try. then, when you get the PCPD Special, drive it, fix it and hold the left analog stick (R3) for 2 seconds. then, your police lights will flash. this only works in the PCPD Special, not on the Hunter cop car. :-( sorry
Repairing your car
When you first get a car, its trashed. to fix it, you have to go thru an auto repair shop. however, anytime after you do this, you can fix your car by crashing, or going thru an auto repair shop.
