More cities
Description: When you start the game you may need more cities. To do this you will need Mongolians. When you begin with the Mongolians you will notice their ability in which barbarian villages join you once you have defeated their village.

Easy wins
How to: The easiest way to win with a certain country or person is to go into "Scenarios" and choose "Lightning Round". Set the difficulty to "Chieftain" and select the person you need to win it with. Now, just concentrate on upgrading Tech. You only need 24 Tech so it will be fast. Choose the Techs that take the least amount of time to research. Try to avoid wars with the other nations, but do not give Tech to someone if it will give them the lead. By doing this, it should not take very long to win.

Tips For Win On Deity
Tip: For a sure bet win on Deity difficulty, you need to play the 'Beta Centuari' Scenario as the Mongols. In this scenario, you will notice a large amount of Barbarians and they are pretty much everywhere.

So at the start of the game, fortify your unit and start creating another Modern Infantry/Tank/Artillery - please note that in this scenario you start with ALL of the technologies, and Technology victory is disabled.

With this unit start taking down all of the Barbarian huts, since the Mongols have the special ability to turn Barbarian Huts into Cities when captured, in a couple of turns you will notice that you have close to 5-6 new cities where your opposing civs will usually only have the one or 2 (the quicker you go around converting these barbarian huts the better).

Near the end game, you may have some problem with cities with large armies of Modern Infantry. The best way to deal with them is a combination of Battleship Fleets on the side (for +27 Naval Support) and armies of Artillery that have City Infiltration. Using Spies to destroy fortifications is also very helpful. Sending in multiple bombers to deal heavy damage before you deal the final blows can also help (not to be done if your against the Aztecs who heal themselves after each victory).

Each time you convert a city you should also switch it from producing Research beakers into Gold. This will increase your Gold Reserves significantly.

Also note that you should NOT build the Library unless you have absolutely nothing else to build.

If your city is next to a civs, then you should build a Wall before anything else, and the Hollywood Wonder as well (so that they do not). This will stop your cities from being flipped via Culture.

Building Your Population
It is recommend that you build your population as early as you can, since even if you only have a handful of cities with 31 population in the capital, you will be able to generate enough research and gold to win the Tech or Economic victory conditions.

At 31 population, each population will generate 1 Production and 8 Resources (Research/Gold), giving you 248 research per turn (without Libraries and Universities).

Catapults & Early-Era Armies
If you see that an enemy army or catapult is heading your way, your 1st instinct is to head them off - IGNORE THAT INSTINCT. LET them come to you. All catapult and early era armies will only have ONE Movement cost, which will mean that unless they are on a road, they will have to be left undefended for a turn.

Normally you will notice that a Catapult/Catapult Army is accompanied by an Archer Army, so what you need to do is get TWO of your offensive units (more if there are more than 2 armies/catapults heading your way) to be 2 tiles away. Then wait for them to come near to your tile. At this point attack all the units on the tile.

Your own Horses and Catapult armies will work great for this strategy. It is also highly recommend that you try to get the upgrade that allows an extra movement AFTER they've attacked for both units. This will mean that after attacking you can go back into your own territory, and heal/wait for the next set of armies. Doing this you can slowly advance, into the enemy territory defeating their units before they can even attack.

TIP: If they are occupied by Knights, try to leave a weak spot in one of your cities, since the AI habitually seems to head for that weak spot. Use this to your advantage by attacking them when they are just behind you (blocking their path will result in them attacking you, so always go for the offensive, and never be defensive).

Bombs Away - Nuke Em Boys!
Tip: When using Nukes, you should keep your units a minimum of 2 tiles away from the enemy city that you are about to bomb, otherwise you will find that your units will also take a hit, since Nukes will destroy everything in the city (and unless it is a capital, the city itself) and do major damage to the units AROUND the city.

Japanese & One Tile Cities
When playing as the Japanese, find a piece of land that only has ONE ground tile, that is surrounded by ocean and ONLY ocean. Build a city here. YOU DO NOT NEED TO PROTECT THIS CITY, since the AI cannot possibly attack it unless they can land somewhere on the tile, which they wont be able to do.

Aircraft also cannot take cities, so your pretty safe. Now, the city itself will not produce anything BUT science/gold and will grow exponentially because it'll be getting a food source from the sea/ocean. On top of that, what you need to do is, RUSH the production for Courthouse when you have the option, and RUSH build a wall so some other AI doesn't flip it (though you'll be told long before hand that there's a chance of a flip). With a courthouse, you'll be using all your population on beakers, and when your population goes above something like 12-13, you'll start producing some actual production. At this point simply build libraries and universities (rush them if you have the gold).

This one city is a gold mine, since it can't be taken by any means besides flipping (which the wall protects against) and it'll produce continuous amounts of research or gold each turn. Put a great leader in the city, and you'll be amazingly rich/knowledgeable.

Also build a Harbor in the city as soon as you can, since harbours give +1 food from tiles, which will mean that your city will grow even faster.

If you are short on money, use the first few turns to get gold instead of research, but after you've built a courthouse and harbour (with that money), your population growth should be incredibly high. Enough for you to be able to put up buildings without any other resource tile.

This can also be done with another civ, however, you need to get the Harbor first, since without it, the city wont grow (The Japanese have special starting bonus).

Hill Defense
Build a city on a hill, it will give all the units in your city more defense or attack.

Winning on Deity - Its Money That Matters
Choose Romans as they have half price wonders in the medi-eval age. Focus all your resource tiles on science and food to grow the population (able to use more resources) and science (to get the jump on your competitors).

Capture barbarian cities to have spies and steal from opponents and you will get at least 700gold per city if you steal from them early enough (before they have had a chance to spend the money)

After a number of basic technologies have been discovered you go to the medieval age. Now the wonders are half price. Rush the Hanging Gardens - 50% population growth and Colosseus of Rhodes - 50% trade increase. Buy as many as you can, stealing gold from civs with spies to fund your rushed construction of Wonders. Building Wonders will get you at a Cultural Victory very quickly and all the Wonders will generate culture too - but who wants a cultural victory! Use the Hollywood wonder to weaken opposing civs until they only have their capital left. Spies to steal great people and demolish buildings are great when weakening an enemy, you can even totally stop them from going to space by demolishing so many of their buildings that they lose production capacity.

By building lots of wonders and especially a courthouse you end up with a super-city. You need to be careful, its easy to get caught up being scientifically advanced but not having enough soldiers to protect the city. Try and overrun them using canons or preferably tanks when they are still using bows and arrows and your road to a Domination Victory will be swift!

When at all possible, intercept opponents settlers BEFORE they make a new city. Its easier to kill any defending soldiers as they don't have the city bonus for protection.

Easily finish a leaders victories on any difficulty
First of all you choose the difficulty you want it to be on, then choose your leader. play through till your cities are big and you know you can win no matter what, in any type of victory. You MUST SAVE THE GAME at where you are and then win on any type of victory. You will the go back to the main menu. Go to single player, load game and go back to the one you were just playing. Load it and finish it again but with a different victory. Do this until all of the victories are done with that leader on that difficulty.you may keep doing this with all the leaders on all the difficulties.

Super Sized
At the beginning of each game you start with your capital city. Right at the start study bronze working to get archers. Get your warrior unit to defend your city for any early comers while you're studying bronze working. Once you've finished studying bronze working, build enough archers for an archer army or two. Your city will be well defended and you are free to build buildings and wonders. By now you've probably encountered warriors or caravans from other kingdoms. If so, make peace with them because you could possibly use them for technology or great people or gold. Now, send out 1 or 2 units of settlers to found a couple cities and to grow your civilization. If people are offering you ridiculous offers, deny them and be at war with them for a couple of turns or until they offer peace again. Don't go to attack them, leave them to suffer under the might of your archer armies. This is good because this will probably upgrade your archers to veteran. (Don't leave your new cities unguarded either, build a couple of archer armies as soon as you found them) As you go on study cultural or technological technologies. Build aqueducts and factories to increase production. As you go on, your civilization will grow and grow to super size, as you reach to Technology, Culture and Economic victories.

Buildup
At the beginning of the game, do not explore. Just stay in one place and build up your capital city/cities. Once you first meet a civilization, if you make peace with them, the game sets itself so that you have ten turns before that civilization starts threatening you. Start exploring whenever you have either Horseback Riding, Navigation, or the Space Flight first discovery bonus (whole map is revealed).

Building a good civ fast
Be the russians and build a ton of big cities along the shore line. They will grow fast due to fishing and go to mannage men make them all focus on gold because you can expnd withmore cities.More ciities will join your because they will think they will have a bettter future in store!Good luck!

Q: Can you make two nukes?
A1: Yes you can. It's hard because you to be building the Manhattan Project Wonder in two cities and the Wonders have to be finished on the same turn. You could also build three or four or TEN nukes, depending on how many cities you have, you could have as many as you want. Just the wonders have to be finished on the same time.
